Chatô Window Hammock — double suction cups, foldable

A place in the sun, without giving up a centimetre of floor. The hammock attaches to the glass with four suction cups and gives your cat exactly what it's after: height, sunshine, and a view of whatever is moving outside.

For an indoor cat, the window is the only access to the outside world. A perch of its own means hours of watching — and a cat that claims your sofa far less often.

What we like

• No assembly: press the suction cups and it's up
• 45 × 30 cm seat, grey plush padding
• Folds flat when you want to open the window wide
• Zero floor space — handy in a small flat
• The cover comes off for washing

What you should know

• You need a smooth, clean, non-porous surface: glass, mirror, wall tiles. The suction cups won't hold on painted walls, bare wood or frosted glass. Clean and dry the glass before fitting and the grip is far better.
• Check the suction cups once a week and press them back on as needed, especially in winter when the glass is cold.
• Fit it at a sensible height for the first few days, while your cat builds confidence.
• Estimated delivery: 10 to 15 working days.

How to make it want to climb up

Put a blanket on it that already smells of your cat, and choose a window where it spends time rather than the one that suits you. Most cats climb up by themselves within 48 hours; some need a week.
